Look close - the surprises mix and merge in these beauties

The members show on display at Rainbow Stew in Yucca Valley between July 17 and August 11, 2021 represents an exciting art form - that of Mixed Media.

Mixed Media describes visual art that has been created using more than one kind of material or medium. The style has gained popularity over the last ten to twenty years especially, because of the ingenuity of creating beautiful art from recycled materials. However, the artistic expression has been on the books since the early 1900s with artworks created by Pablo Picasso.  Mixed Media often falls into categories of Collage, Assemblage, Found Object art, and Altered Books, and Wet & Dry media conjunctions. Chaparral members pleasantly surprised the group with a multitude of entries that subtly and quite drastically represented this lovely visual art form.

Twenty-Six (26) pieces, in a variety of mixed mediums and materials, are on display until August 11 at Rainbow Stew in Yucca Valley. As always, we hope you enjoy the display as you take advantage of the shopping opportunities provided by such an inviting gift shop of unique and hand made local arts, crafts, and curios.
