Chaparral Artists is proud to provide two Artist of the Month venues to showcase our members’ art year-round.
The Center for Healthy Generation
57121 Sunnyslope Drive in Yucca Valley
Desert Hills Presbyterian Church
56750 Mountain View Trail, Yucca Valley
Desert Hills Presbyterian Church was the first, and longest running, venue. The church provides a beautify space to display dozens of art pieces.
The second venue is the Center for Healthy Generations. This location actively provides a gathering space for other art groups of the Morongo Basin, fundraising events, and art and fitness training groups.
Chaparral Artists puts thought into outings that the group can enjoy together. These outings might include visiting art galleries, zoos, preserves and art festivals. We want to share in experiencing art and inspiration together, and this collaboration means that our members need to make their voices heard at meetings. If you have suggestions for art-centric locations, please share them with us.
In general we meet at a location of choosing to determine carpooling or caravan options. Anyone interested in participating MUST contact the Vice President and reserve a spot (contact numbers can be found in the printed directory available during monthly general meetings!). For some, the option to attend functions as a group can be helpful and fun, so let's keep this going!
The following schedule is for 2019. If you are interested in attending, please contact ChaparralArtists@gmail.com for more information.
Southwest Art Festival, Indio, CA
Salton Sea, CA
Covington Park Paint-out, Morongo Valley, CA
Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA
Reflections of Nature: Wildlife and Landscape Show, Fallbrook, CA
Gubler's Orchids Paint-out, Landers, CA
Other trip suggestions under discussion include, Thousand Palms Preserve, The Huntington Botanical Gardens, and Cabot's Pueblo Museum. With more member involvement, more of these trips become possible!
