Chaparral Artists put thought into outings that the group can enjoy together. These outings might include visiting art galleries, zoos, nature preserves and art festivals. We want to share in experiencing art and inspiration together, and this collaboration means that our members need to make their voices heard at meetings. If you have suggestions for art-centric or inspiring locations, please share them with us.
In general we meet at a predetermined location prior to the scheduled outing in order to determine carpooling or caravan options. Anyone interested in participating any event MUST contact the Vice President OR email us to reserve a spot (contact numbers can be found in the printed directory available during monthly general meetings!). For some, the option to attend functions as a group can be helpful and fun, so let's keep this going!

THE GALEN, Artists Center of the Artists Council in Palm Desert
72-567 CA-111, Palm Desert, CA 92260
Wednesday, May 21 | 9:00am – Meet at Jack in the Box (Yucca Valley) or 9:30am Spaghetti Western (Morongo Valley)
Chaparral Artists are visiting
THE GALEN, Artists Center of the Artists Council in Palm Desert.
One of our own – Bob Rufer – was juried into the Photography exhibit and we are eager to see his talent along with many more at the Galen during our visit!
We meet at Jack in the Box in Yucca Valley at 9:00am to arrange carpool or caravan options and then we stop at the Spaghetti Western Restaurant in Morongo Valley by 9:30am to join up with any wishing to join us.
During these outings we may eat packed lunches or find a local restaurant, it all depends on what the attending travelers prefer!
There is no specific end-time with these outings. Some take all day, others may only require four-five hours. Travel time always increases the time away from the Hi Desert, so keep that in mind when considering carpooling options! If you wish to limit the extent of your visit on ANY of these gatherings, please consider caravaning instead so that you can control your stay 🙂
We want everyone to feel involved, welcome, and free to come and go as they please.
ALWAYS sign up in advance so that the officers know to expect you. Limited participation numbers often means canceling the trip all together.
