Guidelines and Criteria for October Orchid Art Show!

Chaparral artists hosts the 2^nd Annual Orchid Visual Art Contest

The Orchid Art Contest returns!

After the tremendous success of last year’s inaugural Orchid Art Contest at the

Morongo Basin Orchid Festival, Chaparral Artists is excited to announce the

Second Annual Orchid Contest!

The first contest drew 27 creative entries in a variety of categories and garnered enthusiastic participation from artists, judges and festival visitors alike. From photography and painting to drawing and mixed media, the exhibit showcased an incredible array of work inspired by the orchids.

Now it’s time to start creating for this year’s event!

Important Details to remember:

*Artwork Intake: Friday October 2^nd, 2026 from 9:00 am to 12:00 (break for lunch) and 3:00pm to 6pm.

*Artwork Pick up: Sunday Oct. 4 at 3:00 closing.

Artwork will be on display Saturday Oct. 3 from 10-5 through Sunday Oct. 4 from 10-3.

*Size Requirements:

Minimum is 5x7, no smaller than 5 inches.

Maximum is 16x20 with frame or unframed.

Please note:

*Absolutely No late entries can be accepted.

* Only one entry per category! (This is designed to encourage exploration and creativity!)

* All work must fit a table easel or be free-standing (please provide your own easel if possible) If you do have one, make sure to have a business card attached or name on it.

* All artwork must have a label with name, title, contact information and either price or NFS. (We will not handle purchases if someone is interested in buying your art) Please be available by phone if a potential customer is interested).

Note: There will be a hired judge as well as People’s Choice Award.
