Victoria Sebanz - Mixed Media

Mood & Mayhem

Chaparral member Victoria Sebanz is presenting a vibrant collection of mixed-media works throughout March & April at AquaFit in Yucca Valley (aka Center for Healthy Generations). A wild woman of many talents, Victoria’s creative spirit moves fluidly between performative arts and visual expression. With a background rooted in dance, movement, and dimensional arts, her work carries an unmistakable sense of rhythm, emotion, and theatrical energy.

A creative arts teacher from Los Angeles who now calls the desert home, Victoria has begun leaving her artistic splash across the Morongo Basin through painting, drawing, assemblage, and experimental mixed-media creations. Her pieces often blur the line between reflective storytelling and abstract exploration, weaving together texture, movement, and imagination with an unmistakable touch of whimsy.

Victoria’s work embraces deep, dark color palettes — moody blues, rich earth tones, layered shadows, and dramatic contrasts — creating scenes and compositions that feel both grounded and dreamlike. Whether through layered paint, found objects, intricate mark-making, or dimensional elements, her artwork invites viewers into spaces that feel emotionally charged yet playfully curious.

Movement remains at the heart of Victoria’s creative process. Her experience in dance and performance subtly emerges within the flow of lines, the balance of compositions, and the expressive energy contained within each piece. Some works feel introspective and meditative, while others burst outward with raw spontaneity and imagination. Together, the collection reflects an artist unafraid to experiment, transform, and embrace the unexpected.

Victoria Sebanz’s collection at the Center for AquaFit offers an engaging glimpse into the mind of a multidisciplinary artist whose creativity continues to evolve across mediums and landscapes. Her work encourages viewers to linger, interpret, and discover something new within each layered creation.
