The promise of unique results even from similar scenes!

The Chaparral Artists' beloved theme, "Same but Different," showcased in this exclusive members-only show, is favored for its ability to foster collaboration among creators. The themed exhibit was presented at Rainbow Stew in Yucca Valley from November to December 2023.

The exhibition provides a chance to delve into diverse thematic groupings, fostering discussions and collaboration among members. It also offers ample space for personal exploration of what "Same but Different" means to each individual. For instance, photographers have submitted solitary images featuring subjects reflected in bodies of water, while assemblage artists have contributed small hanging sculptures cut to match but adorned uniquely. Additionally, in a nod to the theme's origin, it serves as a platform for members to display artworks created during classes with their peers - those workshops where all artists paint the same subject can be collectively showcased during this themed exhibition.

There was no limit to the age of creations or the type of medium - though we cannot truly accommodate more than one three-dimensional piece during any of our shows because of limited floor space. This installment of "Same but Different" received twenty-five (25) entries submitted by ten (10) creators in the mediums of acrylics, mixed-media, oils, pencil, photography, and watercolor.
